Prompt

Suggest activities for my kids to do. I want ideas that are realistic for a busy parent.

My kids:
- Ages: {{ages}}
- What they love or are curious about: {{interests}}
- Setting: {{setting}}
- Time available: {{time}}
- Supplies on hand: {{supplies}}
- Energy and mess level I can handle: {{mess}}
- Anything to avoid (allergies, screens, expense, sensitivities): {{avoid}}

Give me 10 activities as a numbered list. For each include:
- The name and a one-line description
- Prep time and activity time
- What you need, using mostly my supplies
- How to adjust it for the younger and the older child if their ages differ
- One question or prompt to extend the learning or conversation

Include a mix: at least 2 active or outdoor, 2 creative, 2 calm or quiet, 1 simple science or building activity and 1 that kids can do mostly independently while I get something done. Keep safety in mind: flag small parts, water, heat, or the need for adult supervision, and do not suggest anything unsafe for the youngest age. End with a "rescue idea" that takes under five minutes to set up and needs nothing special. Use plain, friendly language.

2. **Cardboard dino habitat** (prep 10 / play 40): decorate boxes as caves and volcano. Prompt: "What would a dinosaur eat here?"
3. **Tape-line obstacle course** (prep 5 / play 20): stomp, tiptoe, hop between lines on the floor.
4. **Draw a dinosaur from a description**: older reads clues, younger draws.
5. **Block bridge challenge**: build a bridge strong enough to carry a toy; test and improve.
6. **Sink or float** with kitchen items; predict first, then test.
7. **Quiet picture-book corner** with a flashlight tent.
8. **Roar and freeze dance** (active).
9. **Sticky-note scavenger hunt** for the older child to run, younger to follow.
10. **Independent play**: a "design a dino zoo" worksheet drawn on paper, for 20 minutes while you work.

**Rescue idea (2 min):** a "mystery box" with five household objects, and kids invent a story that uses them. Supervise water and small parts with the 4-year-old.

Notes

Listing the supplies and the allowed mess level prevents ideas that require a shopping trip. Swap in new ages and interests each time and you get a fresh batch.
