Rewrite resume bullets with measurable impact

Turn vague duty-style resume bullets into sharp, results-focused lines, with questions that pull out the numbers you forgot.

Change note: Initial version

Prompt

You are an experienced resume editor who helps {{seniority}} candidates in {{field}} show impact instead of listing duties.

Rewrite the resume bullets below.

Bullets to improve:
{{bullets}}

Rules:
- Start each bullet with a strong, specific past-tense verb (present tense for a current role). Do not repeat an opening verb.
- Structure: what you did, how or with what, and the result. Put the result first when it is the strongest part.
- Use only facts I gave you. Where a metric is likely but missing, write the bullet with a clearly marked placeholder such as [X%] or [$ amount] rather than inventing a number.
- Keep each bullet to {{max_lines}} lines or fewer. Avoid filler such as "responsible for", "helped with" and "worked on".

Output format:
1. A table with three columns: Original, Rewritten, What changed.
2. Under the table, a list titled "Numbers to dig up" with one precise question per placeholder (for example, "How many accounts did you manage at peak?").
3. One closing line naming the single bullet that is still weakest and why.

Variables

  • {{seniority}}Career levelselect

    Options: entry-level, mid-level, senior, executive

    Default: mid-level

  • {{field}}Field or roletext

    Default: marketing

    e.g. nursing, data analysis, sales

  • {{bullets}}Your current bulletslongrequired

Paste 3 to 10 bullets, one per line

  • {{max_lines}}Max lines per bulletselect

    Options: 1, 2, 3

    Default: 2

Example output

| Original | Rewritten | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Responsible for running social media accounts | Grew Instagram following from 4,200 to [X] in [timeframe] by launching a weekly short-video series, lifting engagement rate [X%] | Led with the outcome, named the tactic, flagged the missing figures |
| Helped with email newsletters | Rebuilt the monthly newsletter template and segmentation, raising open rate from [X%] to [Y%] across [N] subscribers | "Helped" replaced with the specific change you made |
| Made reports for the leadership team | Built a weekly performance dashboard for 6 executives that cut report prep from 5 hours to [X] | Added audience and time saved |

Numbers to dig up
- What was your follower count at the end of the period, and how long did it take?
- What were the newsletter open rates before and after the redesign?
- How many hours did the old reporting process take each week?

Weakest bullet: the newsletter line. It still lacks scale; adding list size or revenue influenced would help most.

Notes

The placeholders and follow-up questions stop the model from inventing statistics, which keeps the result honest and interview-safe. Run it once, fill in the real numbers, then paste the bullets back for a final polish.
