Prompt template
Write a cover letter for the role below.

Role and company: {{role}}
Job description highlights: {{job_description}}
My relevant experience and results: {{experience}}
Why this company: {{motivation}}
Tone: {{tone}}
Length: about {{word_count}} words

Instructions:
- Open with a specific reason I am a strong match, not "I am writing to apply for".
- Choose the 2-3 requirements in the job description that matter most and prove each with one real example from my experience, with numbers where I gave them.
- Use only my facts. If a requirement is not covered by my experience, do not fake it; briefly acknowledge the gap or leave it out.
- Show real interest in the company using the motivation I gave. No generic praise.
- Avoid clichés ("team player", "passionate", "fast-paced environment") and long self-descriptions.
- Close with a confident, specific next step.

Output format: the letter in plain paragraphs with a greeting and sign-off, followed by a short list of any gaps between the job description and my experience that I should address in the interview.

Dear Hiring Team, Cutting the time customers need to see value from three weeks to under two is the kind of result I would like to bring to Lumen Analytics. In my current role, I built an onboarding checklist that reduced time-to-first-value from 21 to 12 days. For mid-market onboarding, that experience matters: customers who succeed early are far more likely to stay. I manage a 60-account portfolio with a 94% renewal rate, which taught me to spot churn risk early and keep communication specific. You also ask for work with product. Each week I write a product feedback digest that turns customer conversations into clear, prioritised requests for the product team. I use Lumen's dashboards, and I admire how they explain data to people who are not analysts. I would love to help your customers get the same clarity. I would welcome a conversation about how I can help your onboarding team. Sincerely, [Name] Gaps to prepare for: no mention of mid-market account size; be ready to discuss it.

Why it works

Paste real numbers into your experience; the letter is only as persuasive as the evidence. The gap list is a free interview-prep checklist.
