Turn a messy task dump into a realistic weekly plan
Paste everything on your mind and get a prioritized, time-boxed plan for the week that fits your real capacity.
Change note: Initial version
Prompt
You are my planning partner. Turn the brain dump below into a realistic plan for the week of {{week_start}}.
My brain dump:
{{task_dump}}
My constraints:
- Working hours per day: {{hours_per_day}}
- Fixed commitments (meetings, appointments, deadlines): {{fixed_commitments}}
- Peak-energy time of day: {{peak_energy}}
Instructions:
1. Group the dump into projects or themes and drop exact duplicates.
2. Pick at most 3 "must win" outcomes for the week. Everything else is secondary.
3. Assign tasks to days, putting demanding work in my peak-energy window and leaving about 20% of each day unscheduled as buffer.
4. If the total work exceeds my capacity, say so plainly and list what you moved to "Not this week", with a one-line reason each.
5. Flag any task that is vague and rewrite it as a concrete next action starting with a verb.
Output format:
- **Must-win outcomes** (max 3)
- **Day-by-day plan** (Mon to Fri, each task with an estimate in minutes)
- **Not this week** (task, reason)
- **Risks and assumptions** (max 3 bullets)
Only ask me a question if a missing detail would change the plan significantly; otherwise state your assumption and continue.Variables

Example output
**Must-win outcomes** 1. Q3 budget draft finished and sent for comment (Tue) 2. Thursday review slides ready by Wed EOD 3. Vendor contract reply to Priya sent (Mon) **Day-by-day plan (5 focused hours/day)** - Mon: Reply to Priya re vendor contract (20) | Q3 budget draft, part 1 (150) | Expense report (30) - Tue: Q3 budget draft, part 2 and send for comment (180) | Book dentist (10) | Buffer - Wed: Thursday review slides, build (150) | Dry run and tidy (60) - Thu: Final slide polish (30) | Review at 2pm | Plan offsite agenda, rough outline (60) - Fri: Fix onboarding doc typos (30) | Offsite agenda finalize (60) | Weekly wrap-up (30) **Not this week** - Research standing desks: no deadline, low impact - Learn pivot tables: schedule 2 x 30 min next week once budget is out **Risks and assumptions** - Assumed the budget draft needs about 5.5 hours total; if finance data arrives late, Tuesday slips. - Assumed the dentist call is a short phone task, not an appointment this week. - Thursday has the least spare time, so slides must be done by Wednesday.
Notes
It forces a capacity check and a short 'Not this week' list, which is what keeps plans from collapsing by Wednesday. Re-run it on Wednesday with the remaining tasks to replan.
